Pricing
A stairlift rail is manufactured for one staircase. Publishing a single figure would mean quoting you for somebody else’s home — so instead we’ll show you exactly what shapes the price, what is included, and how to get a real number for your own stairs.
The quotation is free, written, and there is no obligation attached to it.
Tell us about your staircase and we’ll come back with a personalised recommendation and price.
We reply within 1 business day. No sales visit unless you ask for one.
What shapes your price
Understanding these four is enough to tell roughly where your staircase sits, and enough to judge whether any quotation you receive — from us or from anyone else — is sensible.
Factor 01
This is the single biggest factor. A straight rail is cut to length. A curved rail is bent and manufactured for one staircase only, and cannot be re-used anywhere else.
Factor 02
Every turn adds rail length, adds manufacturing complexity and adds time on installation day. Two staircases of the same height can differ considerably if one turns twice and the other doesn’t turn at all.
Factor 03
The lift works without any of these. They are worth paying for only when your home actually calls for them, and we’ll tell you honestly which ones we think you need.
Factor 04
Most installations are straightforward. Occasionally something on site adds time, and we would rather find that at the assessment than surprise you with it afterwards.
Transparency
The number we give you is the number you pay. Everything on the left is inside it. Anything on the right is listed separately with its own price, so you can add or remove it before you decide.
No separate fitting fee appears later.
Removal and disposal of an existing stairlift can also be included where relevant — tell us at the assessment.
Optional, itemised, and entirely your choice.
GST is shown separately on the quotation. See our service plans.
Getting a number
If you just want a sense of the range before involving anyone, start with a photo. If you’re ready for a real figure, book the assessment.
Fastest
For an early sense of where your staircase sits, before anyone comes to the house.
Most accurate
The only way to get a firm, written price you can hold us to.
Comparing quotes
Including us. A cheaper quotation is not always cheaper once you know what sits behind it, and these are the questions that reveal the difference.
It determines whether the unit is factory-supplied, whether the parts are genuine, and who honours the warranty when something goes wrong.
Some quotations price the lift and add the fitting afterwards. Ask for one number that covers supply, installation and handover.
If the work is subcontracted, the people who measured your staircase are not the ones fitting the rail — and may not be the ones you call afterwards.
Parts only, or parts and labour? Are callouts included? Is it handled locally or claimed overseas?
Batteries and control boards are the parts that eventually need replacing. If they ship from Europe on demand, a simple repair becomes a long wait.
Ask what an annual service costs and what a callout costs, before you buy — not three years later when you need one.
Paying for it
Straightforward, and confirmed in writing before anything is ordered.
A deposit confirms the order and releases your rail for manufacture. The balance is due on completion, once the lift has been installed, tested and handed over.
The quoted figure is fixed once you accept it. The only way it moves is if you ask us to change the specification.
Cover on parts and labour begins the day the lift is handed over, and it is serviced by our own team here in Singapore.
Common questions
If your question isn’t here, ask us directly — we’d rather answer it now than have you guess.
A rail is manufactured for one staircase, so a single published figure would effectively be a quote for somebody else’s home. We publish indicative starting prices to show the range, then give you a firm written figure once we have measured.
Yes. The home visit, the measurement and the written quotation are free, and there is no obligation to proceed afterwards.
Usually, yes. A straight rail is cut to length, while a curved rail is bent and manufactured for your staircase alone — which adds material, tooling and installation time. How much more depends on the number and tightness of the turns.
No. The quoted figure covers supply, installation and handover as one number. Optional extras are itemised separately so you can add or remove them before you decide, and GST is shown separately on the quotation.
[CLIENT: confirm whether instalment or third-party financing options are offered, and name the provider if so. Left unanswered rather than guessed.]
Some government schemes support home mobility modifications for eligible households, but criteria and coverage change over time and stairlifts are not always included. We would rather point you to the current rules than guess at your eligibility. [CLIENT: confirm which schemes to name here, and whether Upstairs assists with applications.]
